JACK MCEVOY

He first burst onto our screens playing a Viking in the SKY TV series Vikings but it seems the Irish actor, Jack Mcevoy, has a lot more up his sleeve.

How did you get into acting?

Well I wasn’t good at much else, I liked the idea of not going to college for academic purposes, but to get creative.. from there I was hooked.

Your breakthrough role was in Vikings, which is no longer on our screens, do miss it?

Of course, but sometimes it’s good to leave the past in the past. Rightly, we cannot talk about the future if you think about it. We can only talk about what we imagine or wish for, it’s two different things. But I wish for hope, that’ll do me I reckon..

You played the bad guy in the movie The Rhythm Section but what type of role would you like to play next?

Something where I can play a great figure of history, a James Dean, a Bono.

What’s next?

Something special.. mountain ranges and snow.

What is your favourite place in the world?

Any place free of agenda, any place filled with compassion, justice, community and joy.

3 things you can’t live without when you travel and why?

Optimism, tolerance and my tooth brush. Without any of the above things go south.

Best advice you’ve been given?

“Everyday is a school day”.
